Security Solutions

Illustrations for a defense conference, built into an interactive piece. Together the scenes tell the story of an end-to-end coastal security solution, following a single threat from the moment it appears to the moment it is resolved.

Each composition was staged in Blender, which also produced the initial line art and lighting passes. Final lighting, color, and line refinements were completed in Photoshop and Illustrator.

Scene one: a towering wave curls toward a city skyline under a lightning storm, opening on the threats coastlines face.

Scene two: a rusting trawler cuts across open water near a headland, a second vessel visible on the horizon.

Scene three: armed figures board a container ship, one manning a mounted gun while another points across the deck.

Scene four: satellites, surveillance aircraft, radar dishes, and radomes surround a ground station, showing security drawn from air, land, sea, and space.

Scene five: a surveillance aircraft sweeps a red sensor cone across a small boat beside a cargo ship, with a thermal readout inset.

Scene six: analysts in a darkened operations room review threat data across wall displays and a thermal target readout.

Scene seven: a twin-propeller surveillance aircraft trains a sensor cone on armed figures aboard a vessel, seen from below.

Scene eight: an officer raises a radio and binoculars as a patrol boat and naval vessel move in behind him.

Scene nine: two decision-makers watch a tracking display as an operator points to a flagged vessel.

Scene ten: figures aboard the intercepted vessel raise their hands in surrender as a boarding team descends and an aircraft passes overhead.
